Bio: My name is Eleonora Oreggia, i am a media artist and researcher. I like writing and thinking and i often have questions. I was born in the suburbs of Milan and my background is in Classical Literature, Latin, Greek and Philosophy. When i was almost 18 i moved to Bologna where i studied Art and Semiotics at University (DAMS), while i was frequenting the Fine Art Academy (Painting). On March 2003 i obtained my Master degree with Honor in Semiotics of Audiovisuals (Animation of Drawings). One week later i was selected for an exchange program by the European community, and thanks to that i moved to Amsterdam to make a Stage at the Nederlands Instituut voor Mediakunst. I lived in Amsterdam for five years, and i spent most of my time with machines, although i also met some people. I have been busy with different projects concerning social activism and the liberation of technology and communication. Some of these projects were mainly political, other rather arty and 'giggy'. My work, mixing different practices, talks about social and individual identities, and their interfacing with reality and imagination. [this story is to be continued...]
